About Vice-President of India
• The Vice President is the second-highest constitutional office in India and serves as the ex-officio Chairman of the Rajya Sabha (the Upper House of Parliament).
• The Vice President takes over as Acting President if the President dies, resigns, is removed, or is incapacitated up to six months or until a new President is elected.
• Lifetime term is five years, with eligibility for re-election, though the incumbent continues until a successor assumes office.

Election and Eligibility
